Responsibilities
- Monitor security operations center (SOC) dashboards for anomalous network activity and potential threats
- Perform initial triage of security alerts using SIEM platforms like Splunk or QRadar
- Document security incidents and contribute to forensic investigation reports
- Assist in implementing security controls and vulnerability remediation tasks
- Participate in penetration testing exercises under senior guidance
- Stay current on emerging cyber threats through industry training programs
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in IT/Cybersecurity or equivalent technical certification (CompTIA Security+, CySA+, etc.)
- Basic understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S)
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work rotating shifts in 24/7 security operations environment
- Proficiency in Windows/Linux operating systems and command-line interfaces
