Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and respond to potential security incidents in real-time using SIEM tools.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing simulations to identify system weaknesses.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of firewall rules, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
- Support compliance initiatives, including SOC 2, HIPAA, and GDPR data protection standards.
- Document security procedures and create security awareness training materials for internal stakeholders.
- Perform routine audits of network infrastructure to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, OSI Model).
- Familiarity with security concepts such as authentication, authorization, and encryption.
- Understanding of operating systems (Windows and Linux) and command-line interfaces.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Eagerness to obtain industry certifications (Security+ is a plus).
