Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts using SIEM tools (Splunk/Symantec) and investigate potential threats
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Document security incidents and maintain compliance with NIST frameworks
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security patches and hardening measures
- Assist in developing incident response plans and disaster recovery procedures
- Conduct security awareness training for employees
- Analyze malware samples and reverse-engineer suspicious activities
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field
- CompTIA Security+ or CEH certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and firewalls
- Basic scripting knowledge (Python/Bash) for automation tasks
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in remote settings
- Valid US driver's license and clean background check
- Experience with Windows/Linux operating systems
