Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM tools like Splunk or QRadar
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing under guidance
- Document security incidents using industry-standard frameworks (NIST, CIS)
- Assist in implementing network security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS)
- Participate in threat hunting and incident response drills
- Develop and maintain security documentation and policies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on security awareness initiatives
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or related field
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (preferred)
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS)
- Basic understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
- Knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
