Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar)
- Investigate potential breaches using forensic tools and threat intelligence
- Assist in implementing security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS)
- Document incidents and contribute to incident response playbooks
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on security awareness training
- Stay updated on emerging threats and regulatory compliance (GDPR, HIPAA)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (within 6 months)
- Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
- Basic scripting knowledge (Python, PowerShell)
- Understanding of NIST framework and risk assessment methodologies
- Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts for 24/7 operations center
- US citizenship or permanent residency required (government contracts)
