Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to cybersecurity incidents
- Assist with vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activities
- Document security incidents, investigation processes, and remediation actions
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Participate in security awareness training initiatives for employees
- Stay current on emerging threats and industry security standards
- Support compliance audits and regulatory requirements (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001)
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs)
- Familiarity with security tools: SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar), vulnerability scanners
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
