Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts across SIEM platforms during overnight shifts (11 PM - 7 AM)
- Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents, including malware, phishing, and intrusion attempts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement threat mitigation strategies
- Document incident reports and maintain detailed security event logs
- Conduct vulnerability scans and penetration testing exercises
- Stay current with emerging threats and security best practices
- Participate in continuous improvement of SOC workflows
Qualifications
- 3+ years in cybersecurity operations or SOC experience
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification required
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and IDS/IPS systems
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and threat intelligence
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001)
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours with minimal supervision
- Excellent written communication skills for incident reporting
- Active TS/SCI clearance preferred
