Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain network security infrastructure including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPN solutions
- Conduct penetration testing and vulnerability assessments to identify system weaknesses
- Monitor security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and investigate potential incidents
- Develop and execute incident response plans for security breaches
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and PCI-DSS standards
- Stay current on emerging threats and recommend security improvements
- Document security policies, procedures, and technical specifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or IT security roles
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification required
- Proficiency in network security tools (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet)
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and network architecture
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and container security
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Valid U.S. government security clearance preferred
