Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems (SIEM) and analyze logs to detect potential threats in real-time.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses.
- Respond to and mitigate security incidents, including malware outbreaks and phishing attacks.
- Configure and maintain firewalls, VPNs, and other network security controls.
- Assist in the implementation of security policies and compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA).
- Document security incidents, findings, and system configurations for audit purposes.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field is a plus.
- Basic understanding of computer networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting technical issues.
- Eagerness to learn and obtain industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Network+).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
