Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to cyber threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Implement and maintain security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption protocols)
- Investigate security incidents and create forensic documentation
- Develop incident response plans and conduct tabletop exercises
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST and CIS frameworks
- Generate comprehensive security reports for executive stakeholders
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with active CompTIA Security+ certification
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and threat intelligence platforms
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking and common attack vectors
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys)
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks (HIPAA, PCI-DSS, GDPR)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid Texas driver's license and ability to travel to client sites
