Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to detect potential threats in real-time.
- Conduct daily vulnerability scans and perform remediation on identified system weaknesses to reduce risk exposure.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss during breaches.
- Enforce corporate security policies and ensure strict compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA standards.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to implement secure coding practices and secure infrastructure configurations.
- Manage user access controls, perform regular access reviews, and revoke unnecessary privileges.
- Produce monthly security reports and brief stakeholders on the current threat landscape.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Valid Security+, CISSP, or CISM certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a SOC (Security Operations Center) or information security role.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, networking fundamentals, and operating systems (Windows/Linux).
- Experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and decisive during a security crisis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting to management.
