Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect, investigate, and respond to cyber threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and maintain security documentation including policies, procedures, and incident response plans
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and ensure compliance with industry standards
- Analyze security incidents and provide detailed reports with recommendations for improvement
- Stay current on emerging threats and security technologies to enhance defense strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations or threat analysis
- Security certifications (CISSP, CompTIA Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred)
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, or ArcSight)
- Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys, or OpenVAS)
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to work under pressure during security incidents
