Your Mission
As a Weekend Shift Cybersecurity Analyst, you will be the first line of defense during off-hours. You will monitor security alerts, investigate incidents, and ensure the integrity of our network infrastructure when the office is quiet.
Responsibilities
- 24/7 Monitoring: Continuously monitor SOC dashboards, SIEM alerts, and threat intelligence feeds during weekend shifts to identify potential security breaches.
- Incident Response: Perform immediate triage and containment of critical security incidents, escalating complex threats to the on-call team.
- Vulnerability Management: Execute scheduled vulnerability scans and coordinate the patching of identified security flaws outside of standard business hours.
- Forensic Analysis: Conduct forensic investigations into security events to determine root causes and impact, ensuring compliance with NIST protocols.
- Reporting: Generate detailed incident reports and weekly status summaries for management, highlighting trends in weekend security activity.
- Policy Enforcement: Enforce security policies and access controls, ensuring all remote access protocols are strictly followed.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or Information Security Analyst role.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC are highly preferred.
- Availability: Must be available to work rotating weekends (e.g., Friday-Sunday or Saturday-Monday).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, or similar), EDR solutions (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne), and Python/Bash scripting.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and documentation.
