Responsibilities
- Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar)
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on enterprise systems
- Implement and maintain security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during incident response and recovery
- Generate detailed security reports and executive summaries
- Stay current with emerging threats and mitigation strategies
- Participate in weekend on-call rotations for critical incident handling
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in SOC, security operations, or incident response roles
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification preferred
- Expertise in network security protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs)
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, Recorded Future)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts (Sat/Sun 12am-8pm CST)
- Excellent written communication for incident reporting
