Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using Splunk, ArcSight, and AlienVault SIEM platforms
- Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents following NIST SP 800-61 framework
- Perform vulnerability assessments using Nessus and Qualys scanners
- Document security incidents and maintain detailed audit trails
- Collaborate with SOC team during critical incident escalations
- Conduct threat hunting activities using MITRE ATT&CK framework
- Generate monthly security metrics reports for executive leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in cybersecurity operations or SOC environments
- Active CISSP, Security+, or CEH certification (required)
- Experience with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and IDS/IPS systems
- Knowledge of NIST frameworks and incident response procedures
- Proficient in Python or Bash for automation scripting
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- Valid U.S. government security clearance preferred
