Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts across SIEM platforms during weekend shifts
- Investigate potential security incidents using forensic tools and techniques
- Execute vulnerability assessments and penetration testing exercises
- Document security incidents and maintain detailed audit trails
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during security incident responses
- Implement security controls and hardening procedures for network systems
- Stay current on emerging threats and countermeasures through continuous training
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in SOC or incident response
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and EDR solutions
- Strong understanding of network protocols and attack vectors
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for incident reporting
- Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one
