Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to identify anomalous activities and potential breaches
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents and document detailed incident reports
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection platforms
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Collaborate with IT teams to remediate security gaps and implement best practices
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including incident response playbooks
- Stay current with emerging threats and recommend proactive security measures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in security operations center (SOC) environments
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and IDS/IPS solutions
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms and vulnerability scanners
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to prioritize incidents under pressure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
