Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events in real-time using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct thorough investigations into security incidents, including malware analysis, phishing campaigns, and unauthorized access attempts.
- Configure, maintain, and monitor network security controls, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.
- Perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to proactively identify weak points in the infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and SOC 2 through documentation and audits.
- Collaborate with IT teams to patch systems and implement security best practices.
- Document incident reports, response procedures, and security policies for the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in a cybersecurity or SOC environment.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or SSCP are strongly preferred.
- Deep understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and common attack vectors.
- Experience with incident response frameworks and methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and stakeholder engagement.
