Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts using Splunk and IBM QRadar SIEM platforms
- Investigate and document security incidents according to NIST guidelines
- Perform vulnerability scans and patch management using Qualys
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls
- Create incident response reports and executive summaries
- Stay updated on emerging threats through threat intelligence feeds
- Participate in tabletop exercises for incident response drills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls)
- Passion for cybersecurity and willingness to learn
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts in a 24/7 SOC environment
- CompTIA Security+ certification (or commitment to obtain within 6 months)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
