Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and prioritize incident response
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Document security incidents and generate comprehensive forensic reports
- Implement and maintain security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection)
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST and ISO 27001 standards
- Participate in threat intelligence analysis and proactive hunting activities
- Develop playbooks for incident response and disaster recovery scenarios
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, routing)
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Willingness to obtain CompTIA Security+ within 6 months of hire
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Ability to work rotating shifts for 24/7 security operations coverage
- Passion for continuous learning and staying updated on emerging threats
- U.S. citizenship required for government client projects
