Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events within the SIEM environment to identify potential threats in real-time.
- Conduct detailed forensic analysis and triage of security incidents to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Configure, maintain, and audit network security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.
- Perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing exercises to proactively identify weaknesses.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure patch management and software deployment.
- Document incident response procedures and maintain accurate security logs for compliance reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and the OSI model.
- Basic knowledge of Linux or Windows command line interfaces and scripting (PowerShell/Bash preferred).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure during active threats.
- Willingness to obtain industry certifications such as Security+, Network+, or CCNA during the training program.
- Attention to detail and a passion for continuous learning in the cybersecurity field.
