Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect potential threats
- Investigate security incidents, conduct forensic analysis, and implement containment measures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to patch vulnerabilities and strengthen security postures
- Generate detailed incident reports and executive summaries for stakeholders
- Stay current on emerging threats and zero-day vulnerabilities through continuous research
- Participate in proactive threat hunting and penetration testing exercises
- Document security procedures and contribute to knowledge base development
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations or incident response
- Industry certifications: CISSP, CEH, or Security+ required; GIAC preferred
- Proficiency in SIEM tools, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security platforms
- Strong understanding of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and threat intelligence
- Ability to work independently during night shifts with minimal supervision
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to perform under pressure during critical incidents
- US citizenship required for federal compliance clearance
