The Role:
You will be responsible for monitoring, detecting, and responding to cyber threats during our critical night shift coverage. Your vigilance will be the first line of defense against malicious actors operating during off-hours. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work autonomously in a 24/7 operational environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events within SIEM environments (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight) for anomalies and suspicious activity.
- Conduct real-time analysis of network traffic, firewall logs, and endpoint data to identify potential intrusions.
- Investigate and remediate security incidents with a focus on rapid containment and recovery to minimize business impact.
- Escalate critical security threats to senior analysts or management promptly and provide detailed technical briefings.
- Document incident reports, maintain accurate security logs, and contribute to the continuous improvement of security protocols.
- Collaborate with the broader IT team to patch vulnerabilities and harden network defenses.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC operations, or network security.
- Experience working the night shift is required.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, CEH, CISSP, SSCP, GCIH) are a strong plus.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, common attack vectors, and malware analysis.
- Familiarity with SIEM tools, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), and firewall management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
