Apex Defense Systems is seeking a vigilant Cybersecurity Analyst to join our elite 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC) in downtown Chicago. The digital threat landscape never rests, and neither do we. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional to lead our night shift defense operations, ensuring our infrastructure remains impenetrable while the city sleeps.

Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and perform real-time threat analysis for 24/7 SOC coverage.
- Investigate and respond to security breaches, vulnerabilities, and malicious activities using industry-standard tools.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and manage the patch management lifecycle for critical systems.
- Analyze network traffic logs and SIEM data to identify anomalous patterns.
- Collaborate with the incident response team to ensure rapid recovery and effective mitigation strategies.
- Document all security incidents and maintain accurate logs for compliance auditing and reporting.
- Conduct security awareness training sessions for internal stakeholders during shift handovers.
Qualifications
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance or willingness to undergo background investigation.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC, or network defense.
- Professional certification such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GCIH preferred.
- Strong proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, Azure Sentinel), Firewalls, and IDS/IPS.
- Ability to work rotating night shifts (e.g., 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM) and occasional on-call rotation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field.
