Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM tools 24/7 to detect and analyze potential security threats during night shift
- Investigate security incidents using forensic tools and create detailed incident reports
- Implement network security protocols including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection
- Conduct vulnerability scans and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Collaborate with day-shift teams during incident handovers and security briefings
- Document security procedures and maintain compliance with NIST and ISO standards
- Stay current on emerging threats and recommend proactive mitigation strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in cybersecurity operations with night shift experience preferred
- Industry certifications: CISSP, Security+, or GIAC required
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and network security platforms
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, Windows/Linux systems, and cloud security (AWS/Azure)
- Incident response experience with IR frameworks (NIST SP 800-61)
- Ability to work independently and make critical decisions under pressure
- Valid U.S. government security clearance (or ability to obtain)
