Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for suspicious activity during night shifts
- Investigate and respond to security incidents including malware, network intrusions, and data breaches
- Conduct forensic analysis of security events and document detailed incident reports
- Collaborate with day shift teams to maintain continuous security posture
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on critical systems
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection
- Stay current with emerging threats and update security protocols accordingly
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in a SOC or similar environment
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification required
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and IDS/IPS systems
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and threat intelligence
- Experience with forensic investigation tools and malware analysis
- Ability to work independently and make critical decisions under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
