Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools (Splunk, Azure Sentinel, or QRadar) to detect potential threats in real-time.
- Conduct thorough investigations and root cause analysis for security incidents and breaches.
- Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits to identify weaknesses in the infrastructure.
- Implement and maintain security policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, NIST).
- Collaborate with IT, development, and legal teams to remediate vulnerabilities and enforce security controls.
- Provide security awareness training and guidance to employees to reduce human error risk.
- Manage patch management processes to ensure systems are up to date against known exploits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC operations, or network administration.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint protection.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GSEC are highly preferred.
- Experience with scripting (Python or PowerShell) for security automation.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively during active security incidents.
