Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts and events using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to potential threats in real-time.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security weaknesses in our infrastructure.
- Manage and configure firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems to ensure network integrity.
- Investigate security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and document detailed reports for stakeholders.
- Enforce and maintain compliance with industry standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to implement secure coding practices and secure architecture designs.
- Stay current on emerging cyber threats, attack vectors, and security best practices to continuously improve our defense posture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or a related role.
- Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, networking protocols, and operating systems (Windows/Linux).
- Proficiency with security tools and technologies, including IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and SIEM platforms.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain relevant government security clearances.
