Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events within the SIEM environment (Splunk/Sentinel) to detect potential threats and breaches.
- Conduct daily vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, ensuring rapid containment and recovery.
- Manage and configure firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPN technologies to enforce network security policies.
- Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to patch vulnerabilities and improve system architecture.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Active certification such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a SOC or IT security role.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and common attack vectors.
- Proficiency with security tools including SIEM, EDR, and vulnerability scanners.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
