Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM tools (Splunk, Sentinel, or QRadar) to detect and respond to potential threats in real-time.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and security audits to identify system weaknesses.
- Investigate security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement remediation strategies to prevent recurrence.
- Manage and configure network security devices, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and proxy servers.
- Develop, maintain, and update security policies, incident response plans, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Collaborate with IT, engineering, and development teams to ensure secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices.
- Stay current on emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices to proactively enhance our security posture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field (equivalent experience accepted).
- Certification preferred: CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC.
- 3+ years of proven experience in cybersecurity, SOC operations, or network administration.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP), OSI model, and common attack vectors (phishing, malware, ransomware).
- Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to security incidents 24/7 on a rotation basis.
