Apex Cyber Defense is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Analyst to join our elite security operations team in Portland, Oregon. We are looking for a proactive security professional who wants to protect our critical infrastructure and lead the charge against evolving cyber threats.
Due to an immediate expansion of our SOC (Security Operations Center), we are looking for a dedicated individual to join us immediately. You will work in a fast-paced environment utilizing cutting-edge tools to monitor, detect, and neutralize threats before they impact our business.

Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and events using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, or ArcSight).
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits.
- Manage and configure firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and endpoint protection agents.
- Investigate and remediate security incidents, including malware analysis and phishing response.
- Develop and maintain security policies, incident response playbooks, and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to secure the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Produce detailed security reports and metrics for executive leadership.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in cybersecurity or information security.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or CCNA Security are strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, and network protocols.
- Experience with cloud security frameworks (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
- Familiarity with threat intelligence platforms and external threat hunting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure during incidents.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
