Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic and security events using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to identify and respond to potential threats.
- Assist in conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on internal systems.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of firewalls, IDS/IPS, and antivirus solutions.
- Investigate and analyze security incidents to contain breaches and minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA regulations.
- Document security protocols and create incident response reports for management review.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
- Certification in CompTIA Security+ or willingness to obtain it within 6 months of hire.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, OSI model, and common network protocols.
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems and command-line interfaces.
- Knowledge of web technologies (HTTP, HTTPS, SQL) and common web vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10).
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
