Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to potential incidents
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and implement security protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and PCI-DSS standards
- Investigate security breaches and forensic analysis to determine root causes
- Prepare detailed incident reports and executive summaries for stakeholders
- Stay current on emerging threats and recommend proactive security measures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in security operations center (SOC) or incident response
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC certification preferred
- Proficiency in network security tools (Snort, Wireshark, Nessus)
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, and common attack vectors
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, Recorded Future)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and communicate complex technical concepts clearly
