Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for suspicious activities
- Investigate and respond to security incidents using forensic analysis techniques
- Develop and maintain security documentation including incident reports and playbooks
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Stay current on emerging threats and recommend mitigation strategies
- Assist in compliance audits for regulations like NIST, ISO 27001, and GDPR
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in security operations center (SOC) or incident response
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification required
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and IDS/IPS systems
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, and encryption technologies
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms and malware analysis
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Flexible schedule availability including nights/weekends for coverage
