Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for threat detection and incident response
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing using provided tools
- Develop and implement security controls for network infrastructure and cloud environments
- Investigate security incidents, perform forensic analysis, and create detailed incident reports
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security best practices across organizational systems
- Stay current with emerging threats and recommend proactive security measures
- Document security policies, procedures, and compliance documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar)
- CompTIA Security+ certification (CISSP/CEH preferred)
- Proficiency in network security tools (Wireshark, Nmap) and vulnerability scanners
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61)
- Strong understanding of compliance requirements (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to document complex technical processes
- Must pass comprehensive background check and obtain government clearance
