Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic and security alerts in real-time using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar).
- Assist in conducting security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing exercises.
- Document security incidents, trends, and system configurations in detailed logs.
- Support the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
- Collaborate with senior analysts to investigate potential threats, malware, and suspicious activities.
- Participate in security awareness training initiatives and policy compliance reviews.
- Maintain accurate records and generate reports for internal audit requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Strong interest in cybersecurity, ethical hacking, and network defense concepts.
- Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and networking fundamentals.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CIS Controls) is a plus but not required.
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Availability to obtain Security+ or similar certifications within the first year of employment.
