Responsibilities
- Monitor and Analyze: Continuously monitor security alerts and SIEM systems (Splunk, Azure Sentinel) to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities in real-time.
- Incident Response: Lead the investigation and remediation of security incidents, including malware analysis, phishing attempts, and unauthorized access.
- Threat Hunting: Proactively hunt for advanced persistent threats (APTs) and zero-day exploits within the network environment.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability scans and penetration testing to ensure systems are patched and secure.
- Compliance & Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of security incidents and generate detailed reports for management and compliance audits (e.g., NIST, HIPAA).
- Security Hardening: Recommend and implement security controls to harden endpoints, servers, and cloud environments.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC analysis, or network defense.
- Certifications: CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GCIH is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar), firewalls (Cisco, Palo Alto), and endpoint protection (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne).
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent military/technical experience.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, ability to work under pressure, and excellent communication skills for reporting to stakeholders.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance is a plus.
