Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts and events using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential threats.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in network infrastructure.
- Implement and manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, and other security controls to prevent unauthorized access.
- Investigate security incidents and coordinate incident response activities to minimize downtime and impact.
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure software development and deployment practices.
- Conduct security awareness training for employees and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity or information security roles.
- Deep knowledge of network security protocols, encryption standards, and vulnerability management.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think like a hacker.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess (or be able to obtain) a DoD Secret clearance.
