Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to potential threats in real-time.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses and recommend remediation strategies.
- Manage and configure firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection systems to maintain a robust security posture.
- Lead incident response efforts, coordinating with cross-functional teams to mitigate breaches and restore operations swiftly.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA through audits and policy enforcement.
- Provide security awareness training and guidance to internal stakeholders to foster a culture of vigilance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 3-5+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity, incident response, or network defense.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, SANS GSEC, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, common attack vectors, and malware analysis.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash for automation and log analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
