Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and correlate data to identify sophisticated attack patterns
- Conduct forensic investigations on security incidents, documenting findings with detailed reports and remediation plans
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and industry-specific regulations
- Develop threat intelligence reports and brief stakeholders on emerging cyber risks
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Lead incident response activities during security breaches, coordinating cross-functional teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in cybersecurity operations with hands-on SIEM experience
- Industry certifications (CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH)
- Proficiency in network security tools (Wireshark, Nmap) and scripting (Python, PowerShell)
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and zero-trust architecture
- Ability to prioritize threats under pressure with excellent analytical skills
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61)
- Excellent written communication for reporting and stakeholder briefings
