Responsibilities
- Incident Response & Management: Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents and alerts using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel) and SIEM technologies to minimize system downtime and data loss.
- Threat Detection & Analysis: Conduct daily security scans, vulnerability assessments, and threat hunting to identify potential risks before they escalate into breaches.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure strict adherence to regulatory frameworks such as SOC 2, PCI-DSS, and HIPAA through regular audits, policy reviews, and compliance reporting.
- Security Architecture Support: Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions to secure network perimeters.
- Risk Management: Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to integrate security best practices into the Software Development Life Cycle (DevSecOps).
- Security Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on security policies, phishing awareness, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- Certifications: CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GIAC GSEC certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in network security, incident response, or a related cybersecurity role.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, Windows and Linux environments, and scripting (Python or Bash).
- Tools: Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms, firewalls (Cisco/Palo Alto), and endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
