Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and investigate potential threats
- Conduct forensic analysis on security incidents to determine root causes and mitigation strategies
- Develop and implement security protocols, including vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and industry-specific regulations
- Create comprehensive incident response plans and conduct regular security drills
- Stay current on emerging threats and recommend defensive measures to leadership
- Document security procedures and maintain detailed incident reports
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, or incident response
- Industry certifications: CISSP, Security+, or CompTIA CySA+ required; GIAC preferred
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar), IDS/IPS systems, and network security protocols
- Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux environments, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and network architecture
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms and malware analysis tools
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders
