Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) tools to identify and investigate potential security incidents
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and implement incident response plans, including containment and remediation strategies
- Analyze network traffic and system logs to detect anomalous activities and potential threats
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and ensure regulatory compliance
- Document security incidents, investigation processes, and mitigation measures
- Stay current with emerging threats and cybersecurity trends through continuous learning
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, or incident response
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required (CEH preferred)
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and endpoint security platforms
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys)
- Ability to communicate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one
