Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and investigate potential threats
- Conduct forensic analysis of security incidents and develop remediation plans
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network systems
- Implement and maintain security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection)
- Document security incidents, procedures, and compliance reports
- Collaborate with IT teams to enhance security posture across cloud and on-premise environments
- Stay updated on emerging threats and industry best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations or incident response
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC certification preferred
- Proficiency in SIEM tools, threat intelligence platforms, and vulnerability scanners
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and compliance frameworks (NIST, HIPAA)
- Experience with scripting (Python, PowerShell) for automation
- Excellent analytical and communication skills with ability to present complex findings
