Responsibilities
- Monitor security events using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and respond to incidents within SLAs
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Analyze malware and implement threat hunting strategies to prevent breaches
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including playbooks and incident response plans
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Provide security awareness training to employees and stakeholders
- Stay current with emerging threats and threat intelligence sources
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in cybersecurity operations, SOC, or threat detection roles
- Industry certifications: CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred
- Proficiency in SIEM tools, firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet), and endpoint security
- Experience with incident response procedures and malware analysis tools
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in high-pressure situations
- Ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical audiences
- Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one
