Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems 24/7 using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to threats
- Conduct forensic investigations on security incidents and compile detailed incident reports
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Collaborate with IT teams to remediate security gaps and implement best practices
- Develop security dashboards and executive-level threat intelligence reports
- Stay current with emerging threats and mitigation strategies through continuous learning
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in cybersecurity operations with hands-on threat detection experience
- Industry certifications: CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred
- Proficiency in SIEM tools, IDS/IPS, and network security protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
- Strong knowledge of NIST frameworks, MITRE ATT&CK, and incident response protocols
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and containerized environments
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize threats under pressure
- Valid North Carolina driver's license for occasional on-site client visits
