Responsibilities
- Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar)
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing for enterprise systems
- Develop and maintain security documentation including playbooks and incident response plans
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Analyze threat intelligence and provide actionable recommendations to leadership
- Ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and industry-specific regulations
- Lead security awareness training programs for employees
- Manage security tool configurations and optimize detection capabilities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in security operations or threat detection
- Industry certifications: CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred
- Proficiency in SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS, and network security tools
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, Windows/Linux systems, and cloud environments
- Experience with incident response methodologies (NIST SP 800-61)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and communicate complex concepts clearly
