Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and prioritize incident response
- Conduct forensic investigations of security breaches and malware attacks
- Develop and implement threat detection scripts using Python and PowerShell
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network systems
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Create detailed incident reports and executive security briefings
- Stay current on emerging threats and attack vectors through continuous research
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with SIEM tools
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required
- Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S)
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, Recorded Future)
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (NIST, HIPAA, PCI-DSS)
- Ability to work rotating shifts for 24/7 operations center coverage
