Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential breaches
- Conduct threat hunting and forensic investigations on advanced persistent threats
- Develop and maintain security documentation including incident response playbooks
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement network security controls and patch management
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing using tools like Nessus
- Generate executive security reports and metrics for stakeholder communication
- Stay current with emerging threats and contribute to security awareness training
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with SOC operations
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification required
- Proficiency in SIEM tools, firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet), and endpoint protection platforms
- Strong knowledge of NIST frameworks and compliance standards
- Experience with incident response protocols and threat intelligence feeds
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize critical security events
- Valid U.S. government security clearance preferred
