Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for real-time threat detection
- Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents, including malware and phishing attacks
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on enterprise systems
- Develop and implement security protocols to safeguard sensitive government data
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with NIST and FISMA standards
- Generate detailed incident reports and security recommendations for leadership
- Stay current with emerging threats and industry best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in a government or regulated environment
- Industry certifications (CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GIAC preferred)
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and security automation
- Strong understanding of network protocols, cloud security, and zero-trust architecture
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
